Key Engineering Decision-Making Points for Rapid Network Expansion

Presented at ISE EXPO in Dallas, Texas, on August 22, 2024

Capital expenditures begins with design. However, understanding timing and sequence of key decisions and what tools can effectively guide those decisions, is what ensures a projects expenditures are predictable and properly managed. The Broadband Group will showcase insights from four successful large-scale fiber network projects, highlighting best practices and lessons learned. The presentation will include an overview of industry tools and their impact on efficient decision-making.

Learnings include:
1. Creation and utilization of a Feasibility Design.
2. Tools employed by The Broadband Group for assessing build sequencing and determining whether a build should be deferred based on cost metrics.
3. Steps involved in transitioning from a Feasibility Design to a comprehensive build package.
4. Defining the timing, method, and responsible party for key project decisions.
